This past weekend I did my usual band-resisted neck isometrics, and some max effort isometric contractions on the Ivanko Super Gripper. I also did 1 set of 30 swings with 2x24kg kettlebells. The wider stance required by swinging to bells seems to emphasize glutes more.
Today was a rolling day, and I drilled a few techniques:
1. Fake guard pull to ankle pick.
2. Guard pull parry and stuff to side control spin.
3. Grip break to drop seoinage.
4. Lasso/slicer to sweep.
These four techniques are definitely going to remain in my repertoire for a while. Mastering a few techniques seems smarter than being decent at many, as does playing to strengths while addressing weaknesses. I like the lasso and want to really master it as part of my game. Same for the kouchigari/drop seoinage pairing, and the guard pull parry and stuff to side control spin. I'll try to log 100 drilled reps with each as a starting goal.
