A quick workout was all I could motivate myself to do today. It was my first time using the 24kg bell in a while, and just looking at it in the corner of my room was daunting. It looks so much larger than the 20, even though it's only 9 lbs more.
However, many trainers laud the benefits of the quick workout, so I decided to make it a good one. Here's what I did.
First, 10 TGUs with a windmill at the top, alternating arms every rep. If I did 5 per arm consecutively, I think my arm would have fallen off, since my arm is tired enough after 5 TGU's with a 20kgb. It was pretty good, got me breathing a little, but my heart was racing.
Then, 3 sets of a Clean, FSQ, MP complex, where fluidity was key. I didn't stop the motion of the bell at the top of the clean, but rather, fell right into the Front squat. At the top of the squat, I allowed the bell to continue up into the military press without stopping. I wasn't afraid to "cheat," because I wanted the squat to be explosive, not slow, so the weight wanted to continue up. Also, my left shoulder has been bothering me, and I didn't want to mess with it.
At the end, I did KB pushups to failure, where 1 arm was on the bell, switching each rep.
It was a light workout but it felt great.
